BBox is a fiscal hardware developer and manufacturer based in Budaörs, Hungary. Founded in 1991 by Mr. Norbert Hódosi, the company has grown into a leading fiscal and IT technology provider for multinational businesses, backed by more than 35 years of industry experience.
Since the very beginning, the primary focus has been to deliver end-to-end fiscal solutions tailored to the needs of each partner, ensuring compliant and seamless operations. The 100% in-house developed and manufactured devices already have an established presence in Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania, while expansion into the wider CEE region is also underway, with market entry in countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Croatia. The self-sufficient capacity is further strengthened by in-house support, field service, 24-hour helpdesk, R&D engineers and software developers, who drive innovation and ensure high-quality standards.
A significant milestone in the company's history was the successful development of a state-of-the-art online cash register in 2013, representing a major technological advancement for cash register systems in Hungary. These fiscal devices are calibrated to transmit transaction data to the tax and customs authorities in near real time via a secure cellular network.
Over the past decade, the portfolio has expanded to include a comprehensive range of self-service technologies, including self-checkout systems, self-ordering kiosks, and drive-through solutions. More recently, POS devices have been added, further strengthening the ability to deliver complete end-to-end solutions.
Today, BBox is focused on supporting businesses through the transition driven by Hungary's new Electronic Cash Register (EPG) – e-Receipt framework. As this regulatory change impacts both hardware and software infrastructures, the company is well positioned to guide customers through the transition with integrated technologies, expertise, and ongoing support to ensure compliance and seamless operations.
